Andrew Tan's AGI named one of Asia's top listed companies

Andrew Tan-led Alliance Global Group (AGI) has been named one of the best listed companies in Asia-Pacific by Forbes Asia magazine.

Forbes Asia's Fabulous 50 is an annual list that recognizes the best performing listed companies in the Asia Pacific region.

Tan's company was a newcomer on the Fab 50 list, which also included two other Philippine companies - fast food giant Jollibee Foods Corp. and Ayala Corp.

Forbes Asia said it chose the 50 out of 1,220 companies which had at least $3 billion in annual revenue or market capitalization.

Forbes Asia cited AGI's strong revenue growth last year, on the back of healthy financial performance of Megaworld, Emperador Distillers, Golden Arches Development Corp., Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. and Global-Estate Resorts, Inc..

"This award affirms our commitment to excellence and best practices. This is a result of the consolidated efforts of all employees of the companies under AGI who have been working hard throughout the years to help us become what we are today. We are very honored to be recognized by the world’s most admired and credible business magazine," Kevin L. Tan, Alliance Global Group, Inc. executive director and Megaworld’s first vice president and head of commercial group, said.

Forbes Asia held an award ceremony at the Regent Hotel in Beijing, China, which was attended by top Asian CEOs and businessmen.

AGI's total revenues surged 63% to P102.72 billion in 2012. For the first nine months of the year, AGI said its consolidated revenues grew 19% to P93.4 billion.
